Tatneft official says quality bank to hurt heavy oil producers
MOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- An oil quality bank, suggested after a government meeting, would make conditions for heavy and light crude producers unequal, an official of oil company Tatneft told PRIME on Monday.
“An oil quality bank deliberately puts oil companies that produce high-sulfur oil and bear extra costs of its production, in unequal conditions with companies producing low-sulfur oil,” the official said.
According to the spokesperson, the measure will not improve the quality of Russian oil exports and ol used by domestic refineries, but will only redistribute the income between the companies.
Tatneft and Bashneft are Russia’s largest producers of heavy crude.
